KPK Monitors Distribution of DKI Jakarta Grant Funds to Central Government

TEROBOSHUKUM.CO.ID JAKARTA . KPK RI. The distribution of grant funds from regional governments to the central government is not only about the budget, but also reflects the synergy between institutions in maintaining stability and supporting the national strategic agenda.

To ensure that the distribution is transparent and accountable, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) was also present at the Signing of the Regional Grant Agreement Manuscript, which contains an agreement in the form of a grant from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) to the central government for the 2025 budget year, which was held at the Balairung Balai Kota Jakarta, Thursday (5/6).

KPK Chairman, Setyo Budiyanto, witnessed the signing directly by the Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung Wibowo together with the Head of BIN DKI Jakarta Joko Suparyoto, Chairman of the DPRD Khoirudin, Regional Secretary Marullah Matali, and a number of other officials.

Commitment to Transparency and Accountability

The Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) emphasized that activities like this need to be accompanied by strict supervision so that they truly provide benefits to the community.

“This is a fund sourced from regional finances, (we) need to understand how to utilize grant funds for positive activities and for the interests of institutions as much as possible,” said Setyo in his speech.

He also reminded the importance of accountability. “Grant funds can at least help recipients, but recipients also need to be accountable so that (the grant) is truly useful,” he said.

Collaboration is the Key

This grant fund is a form of concrete support from the DKI Provincial Government to the central government, as well as part of regional development planning outlined in the Jakarta Medium-Term Regional Development Plan (RPJMD). This activity is considered important to strengthen regional preparedness in facing various national strategic agendas.

DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung emphasized that the distribution of these grant funds was born from a joint commitment of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), while also demonstrating harmony between the regional and central governments.

“The provision of this grant is carried out based on the principles of justice, compliance, rationality, effectiveness, and measurability, in order to provide a real impact of course for the progress of the City of Jakarta. This is not an obligation, but a collaborative responsibility,” Pramono explained.

The KPK Chairman also expressed his appreciation for the synergy between these institutions as a step that should be emulated by other regions. “With the solidarity between the regional and central governments in this activity, hopefully it can have an impact and be an example for other cities or regions. Hopefully this activity can continue,” concluded Setyo.

Also present at the signing were the leadership of Commission A of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, the Chair of the Interfaith Harmony Forum, the ranks of the TNI and law enforcement officers such as the High Prosecutor’s Office and the Police, as well as representatives from a number of regional apparatus organizations (OPD) of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.
